In this session, Chantal Hemmi and Phil Patrick, Lecturers at Center for Language Education

and Research, Sophia University presented two demonstration lessons using a CLIL approach.

The participants were teachers involved in elementary, junior and senior high school teaching.

There was a discussion on the application of a CLIL approach in each of the participants’

different teaching contexts to consider what aspects of the demo lessons could be applied,

and what needed to be adjusted to suit each teaching situation. It was a fruitful session where

the participants had hands-on practice of CLIL activities.
